agressive Jack russell

Help!!!!!!
My 11week old Jack is very agressive, mainly towards my four year old but basically will attack the shoes/boots/pants of anyone in the house. This is causing fights amongst the humans of the house and im sad to say im seriously thinking about selling her as i cant continue this and its not safe for my son.

re: agressive Jack russell

Whilst I've never seen a truly aggressive 11 week old pup what happens now can make a difference later in life. I suggest that you enrol in a "puppy class" with a competent positive reinforcement instructor immediately, even if it means you have to travel what might seem to be an unreasonable distance each week to attend.

It's not unusual for a pup, particularly a terrier, to attack shoes and pants. At this age it's always just what we would call "normal puppy behavior" but a competent instructor will show you how to deal with it effectively. Basically you interrupt then re-direct into a more acceptable activity such as playing tug or playing with a toy. In some cases you may need to use short time-outs.

Pup learns what is acceptable and what is not, and because no punishment or stress is involved it does not lead to aggression - there is nothing to defend against or to fear.

At this age it is critical to socialise pup, and the class is worth it for this aspect alone. I cannot stress how important this is.
